- Developmental educators at the postsecondary level (e.g.,
technical school, community college, junior college, college,
university) who want to learn more about how to use technology
for both personal and professional use.
- All levels of expertise are welcome. While some
of the mini-courses are labled advanced, we will help even beginners
while addressing the needs of those more advanced.
- Both PC and Macintosh
platforms will be available.
- Bring your own projects
and receive expert support in each of the 6 mini-courses in which
you are enrolled.
- We have special arrangements
for participants to earn 3 hours of graduate credit or continuing education credit.
What
to Expect
- You will attend at least 6
mini-course sessions throughout the week. These sessions
are intense learning opportunities with expert instructors giving
you a chance to hone your technology skills and complete projects
you design. Each session will last 3 hours.
- Each morning
you will meet with your mentoring group to preview the
day's activities. Each afternoon you'll unwind with your mentoring
group over a happy hour and review your productive learning sessions.
- We'll help you find lodging.
Many hotels are available for you within the city of San Marcos.
We can help you select an appropriate site and find a rental
car if you so desire.
- We hope you like good home
cooking from our food service on campus who will cater our
lunch and supper each day. Breakfast is continental style, compliments
of the hotel. Please note that special meals will be available
for vegetarians!
- We also want you to enjoy
all that Central Texas has
to offer as you will have either a morning or afternoon session
off. Your nights are your own.
Who
Else Can Come?
- Friends or family members
are also invited. We can make special arrangements for them to
join us during our meals and during your off times. They may
stay with you at the conference hotel as most rooms have two
beds. We have special rates for their lodging and food also.
- Activities abound in and around
San Marcos for your friends and family members. Enjoy a round
of golf, shop at over a hundred stores at our outlet malls, visit
the music scene on famous 6th Street in Austin or Sea World in
San Antonio, eat German food in New Braunfels, tour the Hill
Country, tube the San Marcos River.....and there is so much more!
